Structural Engineer at Design Union

JOB SUMMARY

• Generate detailed structural engineering drawings (general arrangements/layouts, reinforcement details –plans & sections), specifications/related data, and drawings for assigned projects.
• Prepare and produce detailed construction drawings (for reinforced concrete, steel, and composites as required), bar bending schedules, fabrication/shop drawings, and any other technical documents necessary for the construction of structural components of building and civil engineering elements.
• Provide support to the Structural Engineering and the Construction teams on the optimal civil/structural engineering strategy, for the construction of buildings and structures to achieve project goals,
• Provide engineering support to building contractors during construction including review/ assessment of existing structural engineering design and structural integrity and safety of buildings and structures.
• Carry out value engineering of structural components and also conduct research on existing and new material technology for practical applications, strength and durability expectations, cost versus benefits and make recommendations on construction materials for current and future projects.
• Participate in the Structural analysis and design of prospective projects to guide costing and construction decisions.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• B.Sc. in Civil / Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the structural engineering field.
• Must be proficient with AUTOCAD software, CADS RC detailing suite, and other relevant software.
