Structural Design Engineer at Megastar Technical & Construction Company

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Port Harcourt. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical expertise in both structural steel and reinforced concrete design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results across building and Oil & Gas infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Analysis & Design: Perform detailed structural analysis and design for complex reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive, accurate design calculations, technical reports, and construction-ready drawings.
• Collaboration: Coordinate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including Architectural, MEP, and Process engineering departments.
• Site Support: Provide technical on-site engineering support, conducting inspections and swiftly resolving structural issues during the construction phase.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

• Degree: B.Sc. (Minimum Second Class Upper) or HND (Minimum Upper Credit) in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Professional Registration: COREN registration is mandatory.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Experience: 5+ years of post-qualification experience in Structural Steel & Reinforced Concrete design.
• Sector Exposure: A minimum of 3–5 years specifically focused on buildings and Oil & Gas facilities.
• Codes & Standards: Strong working knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards (BS), and both shallow and deep foundation designs.

Software Proficiency

• Candidates must be highly proficient in AutoCAD and at least two of the following structural design and modeling applications:
  • STAAD.Pro
  • ProtaStructure / Orion
  • ETABS
  • SAP 2000
  • Autodesk Revit
