    Store Attendant

    Location: Ibese DCT, Ibese DCT

    The Store Attendant is responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods within the store/warehouse. This role includes receiving deliveries, verifying stock, picking and packing orders, loading dispatch vehicles, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The role also involves operating material-handling equipment such as pallet trucks and forklifts where required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Unload deliveries and verify items against delivery documents.
    • Inspect goods for damages, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
    • Move, stack, and store items in designated locations according to storage procedures.
    • Conduct regular stock counts and assist in inventory audits.
    • Update stock records and report variances when identified.
    • Pick, pack, wrap, and label items accurately based on requisitions or customer orders.
    • Ensure orders are prepared correctly and on time for dispatch.
    • Load issued goods onto delivery vehicles safely and securely.
    • Ensure correct documentation accompanies all dispatched items.
    • Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely (where certified).
    • Carry out basic equipment checks and report faults.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage and work areas.
    • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
    • Maintain accurate manual or electronic stock records.
    • Follow warehouse management and documentation processes.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of secondary school certificate or equivalent.
    • Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry, and move goods, including heavy items.
    • Strong attention to detail for checking deliveries and stock levels.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Basic IT skills for data input and use of inventory systems.
    • Good understanding of workplace health and safety rules.
    • Valid forklift license or willingness to obtain certification where required.
    • Previous store or warehouse experience is an added advantage.
