    Store Assistant

    Role Description

    • The Store Assistant is responsible for the efficient operation of the store by receiving, organizing, issuing, and accurately recording raw materials, tools, fittings, and finished products used in furniture production.
    • The role ensures proper inventory control, safety, and timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Receive, inspect, and properly document all incoming materials, accessories, and supplies.
    • Assist in issuing materials to production departments based on approved requisitions.
    • Ensure proper labeling, stacking, and storage of items to prevent damage or loss.
    • Conduct routine stock counts and assist in periodic stock audits.
    • Report low stock levels, discrepancies, damages, or expired items promptly.
    • Keep the store clean, orderly, and well-arranged at all times.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations within the store area.
    • Ensure proper handling of wood, fabrics, foam, chemicals, glues, and fittings.
    • Update stock cards, bin cards, and inventory systems accurately.
    • Maintain proper documentation for stock movement (GRN, issue vouchers, transfer notes).
    • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
    • Ensure timely release of materials to upholsterers, carpenters, welders, and installers.
    • Coordinate with production supervisors to prevent material shortages or delays.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of OND qualification.
    • Previous experience in a store, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
    • Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and organizing stock.
    • Basic computer skills (Excel or inventory software) is an advantage.
