Station Supervisor - Onitsha at Virgin Forest Energy Limited

Job Summary

We are recruiting for the position of a Station Supervisor for our ONITSHA Station who will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the station to ensure efficient service delivery, sales growth, operational compliance, and excellent customer service. The role involves overseeing station staff, monitoring fuel and product inventory, ensuring accurate cash management, and maintaining safety standards in line with company policies.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Operational Supervision

• Supervise daily station operations and ensure smooth workflow.
• Monitor fuel dispensing activities and product sales.
• Ensure all pumps and station equipment are functioning effectively.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the station premises.
• Monitor opening and closing procedures of the station.

Staff Management

• Supervise station attendants, cashiers, and support staff.
• Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.
• Monitor staff punctuality, discipline, appearance, and performance.
• Train and guide staff on operational procedures and customer service standards.
• Report staff misconduct or operational issues to management.

Sales & Customer Service

• Ensure excellent customer service delivery at all times.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Support sales growth initiatives and promotional activities.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and service efficiency.

Cash & Financial Control

• Supervise daily cash sales and reconciliation processes.
• Ensure proper handling and documentation of all transactions.
• Verify daily sales reports and cash lodgements.
• Prevent cash shortages, fraud, and operational losses.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor fuel stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
• Supervise inventory of lubricants, LPG, and other station products.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconciliation.
• Report stock variances and discrepancies immediately.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and safety regulations.
• Enforce proper use of safety equipment by staff.
• Monitor station environment for hazards and unsafe practices.
• Ensure compliance with company operational policies and industry regulations.

Reporting

• Prepare and submit daily operational and sales reports.
• Maintain accurate records of station activities and incidents.
• Escalate operational, maintenance, or security concerns promptly.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years supervisory experience in the oil & gas or retail sector.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Basic accounting and inventory management knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is an added advantage.
