Reports To: Shift In-Charge / Production Supervisor

Job Purpose

• The Sortex Operator ensures accurate sorting of hulled sesame seeds using electronic color sorting machines, delivering high - quality output in compliance with food safety and quality standards.
• The role focuses on machine operation, product quality assurance, and adherence to hygiene and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust Sortex machines for optimal seed sorting.
• Inspect sorted seeds for compliance with quality specifications (color, size, defects).
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of Sortex equipment.
• Record production and machine performance data accurately.
• Uphold GMP, HACCP, and safety standards in all operations.
• Conduct sanitation tasks and maintain hygienic work areas.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve efficiency and minimize downtime.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Sorting accuracy rate (% seeds meeting quality standards).
• Production output vs. target achieved per shift.
• Machine uptime percentage (minimized downtime).
• Number of quality rejections or recalls.
• Compliance rate with hygiene and safety audits.
• Accuracy of production and maintenance records.

• Technical Aptitude: Ability to operate and troubleshoot Sortex / electronic machines.
