    Sonographer

    Job Summary

    • The Sonographer is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images of internaorgans, tissues, and blood flow. This role requires a blend of technicaexpertise, patient care, and collaboration with medicaprofessionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimapatient outcomes.

    Main Duties

    • Prepare and position patients for ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
    • Operate ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images of organs, tissues, and blood flow.
    • Adjust equipment settings and patient positioning to optimize image quality.
    • Analyze images for quality and preliminary findings, reporting to radiologists or physicians.
    • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and image archiving according to institutionaand legarequirements.
    • Assist physicians during interventionaultrasound procedures as required.
    • Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of ultrasound equipment.
    • Comply with infection control, radiation safety, and professionaethicastandards.
    • Participate in continuous professionadevelopment and training programs.
    • Provide emotionasupport and clear communication to patients throughout the procedure.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 3 years clinicaexperience in diagnostic sonography or related field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic MedicaSonography or equivalent.
    • Professionacertification/licensure (e.g., ARDMS, NIMLS or locaequivalent).
    • Ability to stand for long periods and assist patients physically.
    • In-depth knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy.
    • Proficiency in operating ultrasound machines and interpreting images.
    • Strong interpersonaand communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and pay attention to detail.
    • Compassionate attitude towards patients.
    • Willingness to work shifts and on-calhours as required.
    • Commitment to continuous learning.
