    Solar Technical Sales Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute strategic business plans and forecasts for new business opportunities
    • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to maximize volumes and increase opportunities for the products.
    • Prepare and present the sales report to the higher management.
    • Understand client’s power needs, conduct detailed site audits/inspections, and design custom solutions to meet the client’s needs/objectives.
    • Leverage insights from competitor strategies, price, and service offerings and recommend strategies to retain lead and increase market share.
    • Set up, attend meetings and make presentations to prospective clients and buyers of our products.
    • Produce comprehensive technical and commercial offers.
    • Perform system costing in coordination with the Project manager and other internal key stakeholders.
    • Manage the preparation of bids, proposal content, and conformance to Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
    • Assist in market research and identify solar energy projects in Africa.
    • Review technological trends in the local and global energy sector.
    • Liaise with regulatory and governmental institutions as required and understanding of REA/NEP project will be an added advantage.
    • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through networking.
    • Build networks and spheres of influence to grow prospect lists.
    • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
    • Set up meetings with potential clients to negotiate and close deals.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations on products / services.
    • Oversee sale for every region and formulate strategy for each region.
    • Participate in events and conferences on behalf of the company.
    • Set sales goals and developing sales strategies.
    • Research prospects and generate leads.
    • Contacting potential and existing customers
    • Handle customer questions, inquiries, and complaints.
    • Prepare and send quotes and proposals.
    • Manage the sales process through specific software programs.
    • Build and maintain a CRM database.

    Requirements

    • B.Eng. Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in solar sales roles, preferably in the renewable energy or power industry, installing and/or maintaining solar systems with verifiable clientele.
    • Computer proficiency required, creating spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Software Programs (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint in particular) and use of software like HOMER, Pvsyst and Helioscope.
    • Excellent oral & writing skills.
    • Self-motivated individual that demonstrates a sense of ownership with a high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
    • Passionate about the quality of workmanship and team work.
    • Must be ready to travel across Nigeria and understands the south-west and north-central market needs and market demography.
