Software Test Development Engineer (POS) at PalmPay

About the role

As an Intermediate QA Engineer specializing in POS testing, you will play a crucial role in validating the functionality, performance, and security of our Point of Sale (POS) systems. You will work closely with our development team to identify and resolve issues, ensure compliance with industry standards, and deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for POS systems.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of POS applications and hardware.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing objectives.
• Identify, document, and track defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues.
• Execute and monitor tests on various POS terminals, including card and cardless transactions.
• Verify compliance with industry standards such as ISO8583, EMV, and PCI DSS.
• Review and validate transaction data, including card data, PIN blocks, and other critical fields.
• Conduct end-to-end testing of POS systems in different environments, including production and test environments.
• Prepare and present test reports, summaries, and recommendations for improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to POS and payment systems.
• Requirements
• Strong understanding of POS transactions, including card and cardless payments, and industry standards such as ISO8583.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., JMeter, Selenium).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g.Java) for test automation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of EMV, PCI DSS, and security best practices for payment systems.
• Experience with POS terminal hardware and software testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ISO8583 message structure and transaction processing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus
