About the Role

• We\'re looking for a skilled **Software Developer** to join our growing engineering team and help design, build, and maintain scalable web and mobile applications that serve thousands of users across Nigeria and beyond. You\'ll work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to turn ideas into reliable, well-tested, production-ready software — while continuously improving our codebase, tooling, and engineering practices.
• This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, writing clean and maintainable code, and taking ownership of features from concept through deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software features across the full stack (frontend, backend, and APIs)
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code following industry best practices
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely manner
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical planning for new features and systems
• Integrate third-party APIs and services (payment gateways, SMS/USSD providers, cloud services, etc.)
• Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application reliability
• Participate in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
• Document technical specifications, system designs, and internal processes
• Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, and recommend improvements
• Mentor junior developers and interns as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 2–5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: **Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), Python, Java, PHP, or Go**
• Solid experience with frontend technologies: **HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript**, and a modern framework such as **React, Vue, or Angular**
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (**PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB**)
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and/or GraphQL
• Proficient with version control systems, particularly **Git/GitHub/GitLab**
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration)
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (**AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud**) and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

• Experience with containerization tools (**Docker, Kubernetes**)
• Familiarity with microservices architecture
• Exposure to mobile development (**React Native, Flutter, Swift, or Kotlin**)
• Experience integrating Nigerian payment gateways (**Paystack, Flutterwave, Interswitch**)
• Understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., **NDPR**)
• Prior experience working in a startup or fast-paced tech environment
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Relevant certifications (AWS Certified Developer, Scrum Master, etc.)
