Our client is an indigenous construction firm based in Lagos, Nigeria. They are looking to hire a Site Storekeeper with proven experience in managing on-site stores including inventory records, material orders, and supplies.
Job Description for the Site Storekeeper Role
The Site Storekeeper will be responsible for the following:
The daily operations and management of a site store.
Receiving, storing and recording inventory
Ensuring correctness in the quality, quantity and specifications of the materials received from the central stores.
Stocking materials received from the central store properly for easy identification, verification, handling, maintenance etc.
Accurately recording deliveries in stock ledgers and conducting daily reconciliations
Matching goods received with delivery notes from the central stores
Taking physical count of all materials supplied and issued out based on requisition made on site.
Maintaining a minimum restocking level for all materials in the on-site store
Carrying out physical verification and assessment of stock positions in on-site stores.
Entering stock data in Excel and processing daily reports
Inspecting the construction site and ensuring that all tools and/or equipment are complete and in good shape
Answering questions regarding procedures and resolving issues that may arise regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus supply.
Safeguarding inventory and ensuring that the store is always kept clean and tidy
Performing any other task as may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Storekeeper
SKILLS REQUIRED
Deep understanding of inventory management and standard best practice
Excellent use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word
Proactive and reliable, able to thrive working in a busy environment
Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
Strong attention to detail
Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
Well-developed organisational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Experience in the construction industry is an added advantage
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND)
At least 3years’ professional experience in storekeeping/ inventory management
Remuneration
N70,000 monthly gross
