Site Audit Engineer at Rensource Energy

About the role

• The Site Energy Auditor will inspect buildings/ facilities/ sites to assess current energy use then make recommendations to optimize efficiency and minimize cost and ultimately provide detailed information to size a fit-for-purpose solar solution.

Responsibilities:

• Visually inspects buildings and related systems including mechanical, electrical, and process systems to determine energy consumption in each area or system.
• Inspect/ determine roofs
• Inspect power rooms/ panels
• Uses a variety of tools such as Energy logging meters, and clamp meters to collect field data related to energy use; analyzes the results.
• Performs appropriate and applicable tests to determine the extent of inefficiency.
• Establishes baselines for energy use and needs by quantifying energy consumption.
• Provides thorough education to end users regarding energy efficiency; fields and answers related questions.
• Identifies energy-saving opportunities, calculating potential savings and prioritizing areas with the most return on investment.
• Composes and presents Energy Audit Reports containing the results of the energy analysis and recommendations for improved energy efficiency.
• Recommends alternate energy sources and other energy-efficient technologies.
• Provide a detailed analyzed report on logged data and a site inspection report.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Graduate of Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years experience in similar role (Solar energy)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact well with customers and coworkers.
• Good research and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excel is a must.
• Must be able to draw electrical single-line diagrams using CAD software.
• Ability to explain complicated matters to a variety of individuals.
• Thorough understanding of buildings and building systems (including lighting, building envelope, and mechanical systems), as well as combustion science.
• Basic understanding of methods used for technical and cost savings analysis and reporting.
