    Service Advisor (Heavy Good Vehicles)

    Responsibilities

    • Receives customers and schedule service appointments
    • Communicates with clients about vehicle problems, insurance questions, and warranty issues
    • Catalogs customers’ concerns and comments
    • Writes service orders and descriptions of problems and repairs
    • Translates customers’ repair problems into standard repair terminology
    • Explains repairs to customers
    • Test-drive vehicles to confirm service repairs
    • Directs clients to an available technician
    • Acts as an advocate for clients when communicating vehicle problems and needs to repair department
    • Consults with technicians about needed repairs and alternatives that can be offered in place of expensive repairs
    • Estimates the cost and time needed for repairs
    • Answers customer questions about service outcomes and consulting with technicians when necessary
    • Informs customers about potential cost savings and warranty protections
    • Maintains positive relationships with clients to ensure repeat and return customers
    • Liaises with technicians about parts ordering to ensure requisite parts are available when vehicle repairs require them, and communicates any time restrictions to customers in timely manner
    • Deals with parts suppliers
    • Oversees and manages the service centre’s scheduling and workflow
    • Informs customers of changes in service or when their vehicle is ready to be picked up
    • Handles customer complaints: being able to deal with unhappy customers politely and diplomatically is essential.
    • Performs other duties assigned by management

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree / HND in Mechanical / Automobile / Automotive Engineering or any related course.
    • Experience in the automotive field and a strong understanding of automotive technology and the automotive industry.
    • The candidate must be skilled, creative, a positive mindset, good innovative ideas.
    • Proficiency with industry-specific software.
    • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Strong organizational, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to drive HGVs.
