Job Description

• Adexen is currently seeking an experienced Senior Yard Manager to oversee the efficient operations of a 5-hectare yard supporting the Lagos Port Rehabilitation Project. 

Responsibilities

• Yard Management: Oversee all operations within the 5-hectare yard ensuring smooth coordination between different teams and facilities.
• Concrete Plant Operations: Supervise the production and supply of concrete for marine structures, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Workforce Supervision: Manage a two-shift workforce of 600 personnel, ensuring productivity, safety, and adherence to project timelines.
• Fleet & Equipment Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of trucks, barges, cranes, and other heavy machinery to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Logistics & Supply Chain: Ensure seamless movement of materials and equipment between the yard, construction site, and port facilities.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict HSE standards across all operations, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely material supply.
• Budget & Cost Control: Monitor yard operations to optimize costs, reduce waste, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain records of production, workforce activities, equipment usage, and safety incidents for project reporting.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years in yard, logistics, or construction site management, preferably in marine infrastructure or port rehabilitation projects.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, concrete production, logistics, and port operations.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage large teams and multiple operations efficiently.
• HSE Expertise: Deep understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in marine construction.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to handle operational challenges and ensure project continuity under tight schedules.
• Communication: Strong coordination and communication skills to engage with different stakeholders.
