Senior Scrum Master at Bulb Africa

About the Role

• We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Scrum Master to join our Agile development team.
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience as a Scrum Master and a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex software development projects.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a servant leader and facilitator for the Agile development team, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and practices.
• Guide and coach the team on Agile values, principles, and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization.
• Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner and stakeholders to prioritize and refine the product backlog, ensuring that it is well-groomed and ready for sprint planning.
• Enable the team to deliver high-quality software increments in each sprint, removing any obstacles or impediments that may hinder progress.
• Promote effective communication and collaboration between team members, ensuring transparency and visibility of project progress.
• Monitor and track team performance, sprint progress, and project metrics, providing regular status updates to stakeholders and management.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, promoting Agile best practices and adapting the process to meet the needs of the team and organization.
• Mentor and guide junior Scrum Masters, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance the Agile capabilities of the organization.
• Identify and address any organizational or cultural impediments that may hinder the successful adoption of Agile methodologies.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging Agile practices, incorporating them into the team's workflow when appropriate.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Scrum Master, leading Agile software development projects.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certifications.
• Deep understanding of Agile principles and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.).
• Proven experience in successfully delivering complex software development projects using Agile methodologies.
• Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to guide and inspire cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, or similar).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience in leading Agile transformation initiatives is a plus.
