The role will lead to the pursuit and conversion of complex power-generation opportunities spanning heavy-duty and aeroderivative gas turbine solutions in OCGT and CCGT configurations. As a senior customer-facing commercial leader, the incumbent will shape winning strategies, influence commercial operating frameworks and budgets, and negotiate and execute commercial arrangements within established functional policies. Success requires a high degree of autonomy, executive presence, and sound commercial judgment to deliver sustainable business outcomes.

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define and execute the sales strategy for Nigeria, Ghana, and priority emerging markets, aligned with GE Vernova’s broader EMEA commercial objectives.
    • Leverage deep HDGT and aeroderivative expertise to shape differentiated OCGT and CCGT solutions that address customer priorities for efficiency, reliability, and value.
    • Own the full commercial lifecycle—from opportunity identification and value proposition development through complex negotiations, contracting, and financial close.
    • Mobilize application engineering, commercial operations, finance, legal, and product teams to develop competitive, executable, and winning customer solutions.
    • Navigate regulatory, macroeconomic, and energy-market complexity with agility, proactively managing risk and translating market dynamics into sustainable growth opportunities.
    • Build and sustain strategic relationships with IPPs, utilities, EPCs, investors and lenders, government ministries, and regulators across Nigeria and Ghana to strengthen market position and advance long-term growth.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering in a recognized university.
    • Minimum 12 years of progressive sales and commercial leadership in power generation or utility-scale infrastructure, including 8+ years in senior leadership roles.
    • Demonstrated expertise in heavy-duty gas turbine (HDGT) and aeroderivative technologies, with strong knowledge of OCGT and CCGT system design and applications.
    • Sustained record of delivering against growth and revenue commitments, including the successful closure of major capital-equipment and long-term service agreements.
    • Proven ability to lead effectively within global matrix organizations and navigate high-value, high-stakes opportunities across volatile and emerging markets.
    • Willingness to travel 50–60% across the region to strengthen customer relationships, shape opportunities, and advance strategic priorities.

    Desired Characteristics

    • MBA degree is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated agility in adapting sales strategies to evolving political, economic, and market conditions.
    • Strong analytical capability in project financing, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelling, feasibility and Cost of Electricity (COE) analysis, and risk mitigation.
    • Resilient, proactive, and accountable leadership style, with a strong ownership mindset in uncertain and complex markets.
    • Ability to translate market intelligence and competitive insights into clear, actionable commercial strategies.
    • Strong working knowledge of gas turbine (GT) and total-plant performance calculations.
    • Broad understanding of electrical and mechanical Balance of Plant (BoP), including generators, HRSGs, steam turbines (STs), and generator step-up transformers (GSUTs).
    • Strong customer orientation, with the ability to anticipate priorities and respond with speed and commercial discipline.
    • Established network across developers, EPCs, investors, and financial institutions.
    • Strong influencing, interpersonal, leadership, and project-management capabilities.
    • Proven ability to align, energize, and lead cross-functional teams toward competitive customer solutions and successful business outcomes.
    • Exceptional influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder-management capabilities, with the ability to articulate complex technical and commercial value propositions to senior decision-makers.
