    Senior Research Executive

    Working with the Research Team at Seven Star Consultants

    • At Seven Star Consultants Limited, the senior research executive is expected to elicit professional skills in leading and implementing research team activities.
    • The senior research executive will work independently and, in a team, to fulfil organizational goals and initiatives related to, research, project management, knowledge management and events.
    • As a senior research executive with Seven Star Consultants Ltd, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing research projects that aim to provide evidence-based solutions for various humanitarian and development challenges across multi-sectors such as WASH, health, protection, food security, nutrition, early recovery and livelihood, agriculture, education, governance etc.
    • The senior research executive will oversee the design, implementation, analysis and dissemination of research deliverables, ensuring that they meet high standards of quality, relevance and impact.
    • The successful candidate will hold the capacity to mentor and supervise junior researchers and contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the firm and other activities related to daily operations in a professional environment with the opportunity to work with a highly skilled, diverse team; a vibrant and dynamic environment, that constantly focuses on learning and innovation; and an organisation dedicated to ensuring growth and personal development for all its staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participate in the design and implementation of humanitarian and development projects
    • Lead the development of research proposals, budgets, work plans and deliverables for various development projects.
    • Manage the execution of research activities, including data collection, analysis, synthesis and reporting, using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods and tools.
    • Ensure that research outputs are aligned with the objectives and expectations of clients and partners, and adhere to ethical and professional guidelines.
    • Communicate and disseminate research findings and recommendations to relevant audiences, using various formats and platforms, such as reports, presentations, briefs, and other knowledge management products, etc.
    • Provide technical guidance and feedback to junior researchers, and foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
    • Engage with clients and partners, ensuring that their needs and feedback are incorporated and addressed.
    • Identify and pursue new opportunities for business development and partnerships, and represent the firm in external events and networks.
    • Contribute to the development and improvement of the firm's research capacities, procedures and practices.
    • Stay abreast of sectoral trends that will contribute to the organization’s development practice.

    Qualifications

    • Master`s Degree in Economics, Sociology, Public Policy, International Development, or Development related field from an accredited university.
    • Minimum of 7 years of cognate experience in the development sector, research, Education, policy advocacy.
    • At least five years of experience in conducting applied research in development contexts, preferably in a consulting or advisory role.
    • Expertise in program monitoring and evaluation experience.
    • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, design and implementation of rigorous and innovative research studies, using various quantitative and qualitative methods and tools.
    • Expert level in data analysis, expertise in qualitative and quantitative tools such as tableau, SPSS, Nvivo, Power Bi, R-script, SQL, Python, SAS, etc.
    • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear and compelling way.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate and deliver multiple tasks within tight deadlines and budgets.
    • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor others, as well as work independently and collaboratively.
    • A passion for providing solutions to complex humanitarian and development problems.
    • Multilingual speaker desirable especially in French or Hausa.

    Compensation
