Senior Quantity Surveyor at Kinetic Electromechanic

Job Summary

• The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for maximizing project margins, ensuring cost control, and contributing to the construction process by proactively managing procurement and commercial activities.
• This role involves frequent engagement with subcontractors, suppliers, project teams, and senior management to ensure smooth financial and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze costings for tenders.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Ensure compliance with project budgets and advise on deviations.
• Conduct monthly project cost reviews and forecast final outcomes.
• Monitor project cash flow forecasts.
• Measure and value variations and manage change orders.
• Maintain contract files and track sub/supplier performance.
• Assist with final account settlements and contract closures.
• Provide commercial guidance to project staff and management.
• Conduct market analysis and reporting for strategic purchasing.
• Maintain updated subcontractor and supplier databases.

Qualifications & Experience

• HND or B.Tech in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in MEP or construction.
• Strong commercial acumen and contract management experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email/internet tools.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail with strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Attributes:

• Knowledge of construction codes and local guidelines.
• Ability to prepare, submit, and negotiate project final accounts.
• Familiarity with materials/equipment inventory systems.
• Sound understanding of market pricing trends and forecasting.
