    Senior Project Risk Engineer

    Reports to: Project Controls Manager / Project Manager

    Job Summary:

    The Senior Project Risk Engineer is responsible for identifying, analysing, and managing project risks across all phases of major construction and infrastructure projects (from design through construction, commissioning, and verification).

    This role involves developing and maintaining comprehensive risk management plans and risk registers, conducting qualitative and quantitative risk assessments (including Monte Carlo simulations), and providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks related to scope, schedule, cost, resources, quality, and compliance.

    The position requires close collaboration with project teams, PMO, and stakeholders to ensure timely identification of threats, effective risk response strategies, and successful achievement of project objectives.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Review and become familiar with project scope, design, project cost, and project schedule documentation for various projects.
    • Facilitate risk identification and quantification workshops, incorporating risks into the risk register.
    • Develop Monte Carlo simulations to quantify risks identified in the workshop.
    • Prepare written monthly project risk assessment reports.
    • Create custom Risk Management tools on very short notice to react to project new threats.
    • Consistently participate in all QHSSE Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Programs.
    • Participate in departmental and project progress meetings.
    • Stop, intervene, and report all unsafe work and behaviour.
    • Responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and adherence to Occupational Health & Safety policies.

    Experience

    • Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field such as engineering, construction management, or project management
    • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in engineering and/or project management and in a functional role as Senior Risk Engineer on mega projects.
    • Minimum of 8 years\' experience in a similar role.
    • Excellent knowledge of project controls best practices, processes, and tools.
    • Experience using Palisade @RISK for estimating cost risk.
    • Experience using Primavera Risk Analysis for analysing project schedule risk.
    • Expertise in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
    • Strong proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products.
    • Progressively responsible experience working on a range of construction projects and programs, including oil and gas infrastructure and facilities projects.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in performing qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including the use of risk assessment tools.
