Senior Product Manager at Quidax

Quidax is hiring a product manager, this kind of reminds us of Dr Strange, where he does that thing with the lighting shield thingy, haha. All we are saying is that we are looking for someone who has the ability to control a lot of things at the same time, so we have a number of products and we would love for someone to come on board and own the products like their babies.
Someone who is passionate about the product and realises that behind the product and numbers are actual people – customers who move and breathe. We want someone who is sold out to the idea of bringing joy to our customer’s minds, hearts and fingers every time they interact with our product. This is the core of the role; managing a product or suite of products from inception to delivery & maintenance to make sure the customer has a remarkable experience at the end of the day. 

This is a role for someone who has 3-5 years of experience in product or worked in product for a large scale consumer product/service (B2C) or B2B company. The ideal candidate should have led a product team, have knowledge working with Jira or Trello for task management. And Mixpanel, Google, Hotjar for analytics.
These tools are not set in stone but Jira would be an added advantage because the team is already neck-deep in Jira and we would like you to hit the ground running.

We work primarily onsite, you would need to be able to come into the office in Lagos (Lekki) from 9–5 every day.

About the job

There is really no product without a product manager and this is one of the most important roles in the company. The job of the product manager at Quidax is to be the CEO of the product; basically, take charge of the product development process from start to finish and everything in the middle. In truth, it never finishes.
We currently have 3 products and you would be working on all while thinking up new ones we should build. The product manager sits in between the business and engineering teams while translating customer requests into language developers can understand and build.
We always want to give our customers a delightful experience so we would like someone who can demonstrate intuitiveness, passion for the customers and passion for the business. 

We are big on metrics and how it can help us improve the business and product for  the customers, it can help us identify where new customers are dropping off or old-timers are just getting plain confused or frustrated if we have the data, we can make the journey bliss for the customer.
For now, we are merging the product analytic roles into product management, so it would be great if you are conversant with analytic tools especially Mixpanel.

Of course, the expectation would be that you have led a team and would be great at working with and within a team, a lot of what you would be doing is liaising with the engineering, business, marketing and customer success teams and also working within your team to achieve the goals and KPIs y’all have set for yourselves. 

The team has 3 people right now but will expand to be a lot larger in the near future.

Here’s an example of what your day to day at Quidax might look like

• Sync with your team on the direction for the week/day
• Analyse our previous week’s key metrics and prepare new experiments to be done
• Create tickets for tasks the engineering team is supposed to work on
• Sync with the business team on the direction for the next couple of weeks
• Join in an argument about why feminists need to speak up more or some other random stuff
• Prepare a product roadmap
• Critic the chef’s food
• Join the weekly book club meeting 

It differs from day-to-day.
