Develop, review, and update curriculum to meet regulatory standards (e.g., IMO/STCW) and industry trends.
Prepare Courseware including presentations, simulation exercises and practical mockups, keeping in mind the pedagogy of learning, to enable top quality transfer of knowledge and skills to the learner.
Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions in subjects such as navigation / marine engineering, , maritime safety, cargo operations / repair and maintenance, commercial operations, environmental protection and related disciplines.
Monitor and oversee courseware developed by Junior faculty and provide feedback and guidance towards their improvement.
Supervise student projects, dissertations, and assessments.
Engage in research and writing articles for reputed journals and publications relevant to the maritime field. Deliver presentations at reputed seminars and conferences that enhances the image of SeaLearn.
Provide mentorship and academic guidance to junior faculty and students.
Participate in internal committees, quality assurance processes, and accreditation activities.
Collaborate with maritime industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to enhance training relevance and employability of graduates.
Contribute to the development and delivery of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programs.
Requirements
Recognized professional certification Master Class I or Marine Engineer Officer Class I Certificate of Competency (e.g., Master Mariner, Chief Engineer) from a reputed Flag administration.
A master’s degree or PhD in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related field, is an advantage.
Holds certificate of an Administration approved Train the Trainer course / Train the Simulator Trainer course and Assessment, Examination and Certification of Seafarers course
Minimum of 20 years of experience in maritime education and/or seagoing or shore-based maritime industry roles.
Strong understanding of international maritime regulations including (STCW Proven teaching and curriculum development experience at a higher education level. Preferably has attended an Instructional Design training course.
Experience in academic research or industry-driven projects is an advantage.
