Senior Electrical Design Engineer – MEP / Building Services at Dunn & Braxton

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop concept, FEED and detailed electrical designs for building and infrastructure projects.
• Carry out electrical load analysis, voltage-drop calculations and short-circuit calculations.
• Design low-voltage distribution systems, including distribution boards, feeders and associated protection systems.
• Undertake sizing and selection of transformers, generators, cables, circuit breakers, fuses and other electrical equipment.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, schedules, specifications and technical documentation.
• Design lighting, small-power and associated electrical systems.
• Develop fire detection and alarm system designs and coordinate with other building services.
• Prepare material schedules, technical specifications and material/equipment submittals.
• Produce and review electrical drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
• Undertake lighting calculations and modelling using DIALux/Relux where applicable.
• Review contractors' shop drawings, technical submissions and as-built documentation.
• Conduct peer reviews of electrical designs and ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Attend technical, design and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Raise and close out RFIs and technical queries.
• Provide technical support during procurement, installation and construction.
• Supervise electrical installation works and conduct site inspections.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, snagging and handover of electrical systems.
• Review operation and maintenance manuals and final project documentation.
• Support project QA/QC processes, inspections, audits and closeout activities.
• Maintain effective engineering document control and ensure proper project records.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural and structural disciplines to resolve design interfaces.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Significant professional experience in electrical building-services design and construction.
• Strong experience in low-voltage electrical systems and building services.
• Proven experience in FEED and detailed electrical design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
• Knowledge of DIALux/Relux or equivalent lighting-design software.
• Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, technical submissions and contractor documentation.
• Experience with construction supervision, commissioning and project handover.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC and engineering documentation processes.
• Professional engineering membership/registration will be an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• The successful candidate should demonstrate strong technical judgement, attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to manage competing engineering priorities. 
• Experience working on hotels, commercial buildings, residential developments, retail facilities, industrial facilities or major infrastructure projects will be advantageous.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and working with contractors and subcontractors is highly desirable.
