A leading construction company is looking for a well-seasoned Senior Cost controller to join their team in Nigeria for a Road project. AFRICA experience is a non-negotiable.

• The cost controller is in charge to supervise the interface between the realization of the work done on site and the finance / accounting follow up.
• The cost controller shall be responsible to follow the work progress on site and the financial consequences of this “production’s activity”.
• Control and supervision of the budget is organized by the cost controller on behalf of the top management (DMD, MD, ).
• Any payment shall be approved by the cost controller when the relationship between the technical team and financial team is clearly established, and any operation approved by the cost controller.
• The cost controller shall alert the Management when the budget is not respected : anticipation is a key element.
• A comprehensive analysis related to cost accounting / Activity cost / analytic accounting is a central aspect of this position.
• Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, balancing cost efficiency with production requirements to minimize carrying costs and ensure timely availability of materials.
• Review contracts, purchase orders, and vendor agreements to ensure pricing accuracy and compliance. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms when feasible.

Requirements

• 10-15 years experience in the field
• Road & highway project experience
• Knowledge and experience in AFRICA
• Road experience in NIGERIA -Highly beneficial
• Full Project management experience ( initiation until completion) & PM software
• Excellent communication in English
