    Senior Cloud Systems Engineer


    • The Senior  Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for end to end infrastructure supports of our diverse cloud platforms IaaS, SaaS and Private cloud platforms. Ensure proactive checks on a daily basis and address any issues in a global support tickets. Liaise with Vendors on 3rd level escalations  and involves in project management.

    Specifically, the Senior Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

    • Monitoring all Choice Cloud Managed Services customer circuits providing a specific update, status, and performance to customer and Choice Cloud internal stakeholders etc.
    • Identifying faults or performance issues within the cloud platforms from Choice Cloud’s monitoring tools in accordance with the Company’s standard operating procedure for fault escalation and management.
    • Working with the service desk team to ensure trouble tickets (TT) are opened and updated for every network event or systems within the customer’s managed services network and ensure they are tracked with customers, Choice Cloud internal teams, and Choice Cloud partners till they are closed.
    • Ensuring proper technical documentation of the customer's Cloud services c and network information to aid the effective operation of the Cloud service.
    • Running daily, weekly and monthly reports on our Cloud performance and share with  Choice Cloud internal stakeholders.
    • Ensuring all signed Cloud Services SLAs with customer are met.
    • You will be required to liaise and interface with other groups/departments internally and other Choice Cloud partners not limited to her vendors and 3rd Party service providers who are involved in the deployment of the "Cloud Service" solutions.
    • You MUST be extremely comfortable with self-learning and development.
    • Providing first level supports in Cloud application software as a service offers by Choice Cloud.
    • Manage DigitalOcean Cloud, OVHCloud, Azure and other Cloud platforms.
    • Manage all backups and data protection and recovery .
    • Manage virtualization platforms running on Microsoft Hyper-V.
    • Manage the VOIP Platforms in global operations.

    Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
    Qualification & Competencies required:

    • Minimum of B.Sc in Electrical Electronics Engineering/Computer Engineering  or Degree in a related discipline.
    • 5-7 years’ experience
    • Good knowledge of networking technologies- TCP/IP, BGP, DNS will be an added advantage.
    • Relevant Professional/Technical certifications preferably CCNA & CCNP, MCSE (Preferred)
    • Good knowledge of Windows server Administrations like : Active Directory, DHCP, File Server, DNS, Hyper-V, GPO etc
    • Good knowledge of Linux Administrations on Ubuntu , CENTOS, Linux Iptables/firewalls, file systems etc
    • Good knowledge of firewall like :  Cloudflare WAF/CDN, Windows Firewall, PFsense , Bitninja etc
    • Good knowledge of scripting like PowerShell .
    • Excellent knowledge of VOIP protocols and support including VOIP gateways and handsets.
    • Excellent knowledge of Hosting platforms especially Plesk or Control Panel.
    • Good knowledge of email services/SMTP protocols like office 365, Sendgrid etc
    • Good knowledge of Application delivery methods like Citrix , MS Remote Desktop Apps, Parallels etc
    • Understands data protection, data availability and backup recovery procedures.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Good documentation and reporting skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
    • Able to use initiative to tackle a broad range of problems, while still following procedures and processes.
    • Strong diagnostic, analysis and problem resolution skills with a flexible approach to problem solving.
    • Able to work well within a busy team and handle a wide range of issues.
    • Capable of multi-tasking, good time management and prioritization of workload.
    • Strong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources.
    • Ability to assess and prioritize faults and respond or escalate accordingly.
    • Willing to learn and develop new skills and actively seeks out tasks that help develop skills and knowledge.
    • Actively seeks ways of improving existing systems and processes.
