Senior Accountant at Shema Holdings Limited

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Manage and process payments to suppliers, vendors, and employees, as well as track and collect payments from customers.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations, such as tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting, prevent financial misstatement, and mitigate financial risks.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure accurate tracking and valuation of inventory.
• Identify areas for cost savings and implement cost-control measures.
• Participate in financial planning and decision-making processes to support business growth and profitability.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Professional Certification such ACA or CNA will be an added advantage.
• 2 - 4 years experience in supply-chain management.
• Proficiency in SAP accounting software is required.
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
