Senior Accountant at Manuchar

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accountant located in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Create, coordinate and evaluate the financial programs and supporting systems of the company including reporting, budgeting, tax planning and audit.
• Oversee the processing and approval of revenue and expenditure control documents.
• Develop and improve accounting, billing and auditing procedures and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
• Coordinate the preparations of financial statements, financial reports, costing analysis and information reports.
• Coordinate improvements in financial and management information systems for the company.
• Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all assets and evaluate new Capex proposals.
• Obtain a general understanding of the tax environment within which the organisation operates, review returns and identify opportunities for improvements in fiscal management.
• Oversee compliance with direct tax, indirect tax, Forex and Transfer Pricing regulations.
• Assist in working capital management, tax planning and corporate governance
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Chartered Accountant certification is a plus
• Knowledge of advanced accounting principles
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures
• Proficient in data entry and management
• Knowledge of relevant accounting software
• Computer skills including the ability to spreadsheet and word-processing programs.
• An understanding of the general culture and environment.
• Ability to understand, follow and confer written and oral instructions
• Ability to effectively supervise Department staff in carrying out Departmental functions
• Extensive knowledge of generally accepted standard accounting principles, established procedures, Departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements applicable to the job
• Extensive knowledge of the application of statistical concepts and methods as applied to the analyses of accounting, Finance Management and revenue projecting
• Current knowledge of industry, regulatory and legislative developments affecting accounting and financial reporting functions to ensure application to areas of responsibility
