Senior Accountant at Gourmet Twist

About this role

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to oversee our daily financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our corporate accounting records.
• In this role, you will manage complex reconciliations, lead month-end closing processes, and provide critical financial insights to support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements.
• Perform complex bank, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Manage tax compliance, including sales tax filings and coordination with external auditors for annual reviews.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Streamline accounting workflows and implement internal controls to improve data integrity.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior-level capacity.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proven ability to handle high-volume transactions with extreme accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial data to non-finance stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience in the food and beverage or hospitality industry.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with inventory management and COGS analysis.
