SEN Teacher(Mathematics) at Greensprings School

Reporting To: Head of Learning Support Department

Position Summary:  

The Special Needs Teacher (Mathematics) will be responsible for delivering tailored mathematics instruction to students with special educational needs (SEN). The role requires designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), fostering an inclusive learning environment, and ensuring that students achieve their academic and developmental goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver Mathematics lessons adapted to the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Design, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with colleagues and parents.
• Employ differentiated teaching strategies and utilize assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing feedback and reports to parents and school leadership.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support student development.
• Promote the social, emotional, and behavioural growth of students.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
• Stay informed on best practices and current developments in special needs education.
• Qualifications: B.Ed Special Education, TRCN certificate

• Excellent planning, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of patience, empathy, and adaptability.
• Recognized teaching certification/licence in Special Education
