    Security Coordinator

    Mission
    Goal / Purpose:

    • The Security Coordinator supports the Country Director and the Field Coordinators with the security management of the mission.

    Main Tasks
    Security information management & reporting:

    • Follow on the updates of Bases Security Pack (including RAT + S&S + Memo + SOPs / including access strategy), to recall the FC for their review 
    • Provide guidance or technical support, if need be, to FC in the elaboration of any security related document 
    • Review the security documentation proposed by FC, prior submission to the CD 
    • Archive the country security related supporting documentation 
    • Follow up on the treatment of the security incidents with the staff that write it and Field Coordinator if relevant, to make sure corrective measures are taken accordingly 
    • Assist the Country Security Committees chaired by the CD, alongside the FCs, to facilitate the understanding of trends, guide the security analysis, and take the minutes of the meeting 
    • Produce qualitative reporting for both the mission and the HQ with a qualitative and quantitative approach 
    • Provide contextual and security briefings to the incoming international staff or as a backup in the absence of the Field Coordinator.

    Context monitoring and networking:

    • Ensure the monitoring and analysis of political and military strategies of armed groups and militia at Country Level 
    • Lead the definition of the country security strategy in accordance with identified risks 
    • Ensure security evaluations of new SI aera of intervention if not in the area of the existing FC 
    • Assist the teams with opening and securing new bases or closing existing bases 
    • Improve the system of collecting and capitalizing of information 
    • Establish and maintain contact with local authorities, armed forces and tribal chiefs for all matters relating to security and support the teams during sensitive negotiations 
    • Develop a network of contacts to ease the triangulation of the information 
    • Keep an updated contact list of security focal points of INGO/NGOs 
    • Take part in inter-agency coordination meetings for security related matters.

    Monitoring of security procedures:

    • Be the guardian of compliance with security process and report to the CD any breach that could compromise the security of staff & of operations 
    • Train the teams and disseminate security messages and refreshments on good practices upon the needs 
    • In link with logistics, ensure the presence, the functionality and correct use of communication material, and ensure communication procedures and protocol are adhered to 
    • Flag any needs of corrective measure or amendment in internal security policies to the CD.

    Crisis management:

    • Attend the in-country crisis management cells alongside the CD & other stakeholders in case of critical incident, and take the minutes 
    • Propose to the CD alternatives and solutions based on each given situation, facilitate the decision making 
    • Assist the CD in the interactions with external stakeholders to help addressing a critical incident.

    Profile Forsaken
    Technical Competencies:

    • Experience: 3 - 4 years’ professional experience in similar position out of which 2 years with an INGO, Ability to develop a strategy of Access, Ability to develop resourceful networking, Ability to communicate diligently internally and externally
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field
    • IT Skills: Easy with online platform Management
    • Personal Abilities : Excellent sense of organization, self-control and calmness, Fluent in spoken and written English, knowledge of local language is a plus.
