Secondary School Teacher at PeopleOS

We are seeking a qualified and experienced secondary school Teacher who will be responsible for delivering subject-specific instruction, assessing student performance, and supporting students in achieving academic excellence. This role involves preparing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, monitoring student progress, and fostering an engaging learning environment that promotes discipline and academic growth.

The ideal candidate will provide effective instruction in assigned subject areas, identify students’ learning needs, and implement strategies to improve performance. The Secondary School Teacher will also collaborate with school leadership and parents to support student development and ensure curriculum objectives are achieved.

Summary of Responsibilities

Instruction and Lesson Delivery

• Deliver lessons in assigned subject areas in line with the curriculum
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials
• Use effective teaching methods to enhance student understanding

Assessment and Evaluation

• Prepare and grade assignments, tests, and examinations
• Monitor and evaluate students’ academic performance
• Maintain accurate academic records and reports

Classroom Management

• Maintain discipline and classroom order
• Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
• Encourage active student participation in lessons

Student Support and Communication

• Identify students’ academic challenges and provide support
• Communicate student progress with parents and school management
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and academic planning sessions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant subject area
• 2 - 4 years of teaching experience in a secondary school
• Strong knowledge of subject matter
• Good classroom management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess and support student academic development
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Passion for teaching and student development
• Must reside in Agege or its environs
