The Sales Manager is responsible for developing international buyers, securing viable export contracts and coordinating fulfilment for the company's sesame export business. The role develops international buyer relationships, identifies new markets and customers, negotiates prices, volumes and commercial terms, aligns sales commitments with procurement economics, coordinates fulfilment with Export, Quality and Operations, and maintains the buyer pipeline and sales forecasts, in support of the Head of Business and the wider commercial function.

International Buyer Relationship Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with international buyers of sesame and related agro-commodities, acting as the primary commercial point of contact.
- Build buyer confidence through consistent communication, responsiveness and reliable delivery on commitments.
New Market and Customer Identification
- Identify and evaluate new export markets, customer segments and potential buyers to diversify and grow the company's sales base.
- Conduct market research and competitor/pricing analysis to inform market entry and customer targeting decisions.
Price, Volume and Commercial Terms Negotiation
- Negotiate prices, volumes, payment terms and other commercial conditions with buyers, securing viable and profitable export contracts.
- Ensure negotiated terms are properly documented and communicated to relevant internal stakeholders.
Alignment of Sales Commitments with Procurement Economics
- Align sales commitments (volumes, pricing, delivery timelines) with procurement cost and supply realities to protect margin and delivery feasibility.
- Coordinate with Procurement to validate pricing and volume assumptions before finalising sales contracts.
Fulfilment Coordination with Export, Quality and Operations
- Coordinate with Export, Quality Control and Operations teams to ensure contracted volumes are fulfilled on time and in compliance with agreed quality specifications.
- Proactively resolve fulfilment bottlenecks and keep buyers informed of shipment status.
Buyer Pipeline and Sales Forecast Management
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date buyer pipeline covering prospects, active negotiations and confirmed contracts.
- Prepare and update periodic sales forecasts to support procurement planning and management decision-making.
Requirements
- B.Sc./HND in Business Administration, Marketing, International Trade, Agribusiness, or a related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Membership of a relevant sales/marketing or trade professional body is an advantage.
- Knowledge of export documentation, INCOTERMS and international trade finance is desirable.
- Minimum of 6-8 years' experience in sales/business development, including significant experience in export sales of agro-commodities (sesame or similar), with a track record of securing and managing international buyer contracts.
