    Sales/ Business Development Officer

    Job Overview:

    • The Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting and selling the company’s wine products to clients, distributors, restaurants, and retailers. This role involves developing strong relationships with customers, identifying sales opportunities, and driving revenue growth. The Sales Representative should have a deep knowledge of the wine industry and be able to effectively communicate product benefits, wine pairings, and trends to a diverse audience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Actively prospect and generate new business opportunities within assigned territory or customer base.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, including restaurants, retailers, distributors, and direct consumers.
    • Provide detailed information and guidance on the company’s wine products, including wine features, benefits, sourcing, and tasting notes.
    • Conduct product tastings, wine presentations, and events to engage potential clients and increase sales.
    • Develop a strong understanding of market trends, competitor products, and customer preferences to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan promotional events and campaigns to increase brand visibility and product awareness.
    • Achieve sales targets and quotas set by the company.
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that clients have a consistent supply of wine products.
    • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with customers, ensuring profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and promptly address customer concerns or issues.
    • Track and report on sales activity, market conditions, and competitor actions through regular reporting to management.
    • Attend trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences to build brand awareness and expand professional contacts.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest wine trends, product releases, and industry news.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in sales, preferably in the wine or beverage industry.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
    • Strong knowledge of wine, wine regions, wine pairings, and the wine and spirit market.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage a territory or customer base.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse customers.
    • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach to achieving sales goals.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
    • Ability to travel within the assigned territory and attend events as needed.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

    • Sales Volume and Revenue - Achieve monthly, quarterly, or yearly sales targets set by the organization.
    • Customer Retention Rate- Achieve a high retention rate (e.g., 80-90%).
    • New Client Acquisition Rate- Acquire a set number of new clients each quarter
    • Product Mix and Cross-Selling Success- Achieve a specific percentage of cross-selling or up-selling (e.g., 30% of total sales include multiple products).
    • Inventory Management and Stock Levels- Maintain optimal stock levels, avoiding out-of-stock situations or overstocking
