Safety Officer at RusselSmith Group

Job Overview:

We are looking for a vigilant and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team. The Safety Officer will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promote a safe work environment, and implement effective safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing the company’s safety or industrial health program to prevent, correct, or control unsafe environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety policies and procedures.
2. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections.
3. Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
4. Provide safety training and education to employees and management.
5. Investigate incidents and accidents and prepare detailed reports with recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
6. Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
7. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
8. Promote a culture of safety and awareness across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications and Skills: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
2.  Certification in occupational health and safety.
3. Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role.
4.  In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
5.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6.  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7.  Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
