    ROVING WPE Response Officer

    Job Overview/Summary

    • The WPE Response Officer will oversee all aspects of the WPE response, including case management for survivors and psychosocial support activities for survivors and diverse women and girls.
    • She will work closely with case management assistants to ensure that cases are properly documented and followed up on using the case management guidelines, as well as provide regular support as needed.
    • She will also coordinate with case management staff on the psychosocial needs of GBV survivors, and support community sensitization efforts to prevent and respond to all forms of GBV. The GBVIMS Incident Recorder will be used by the Response Officer to record all cases documented by the case and to assess trends for informed programming. She will also support with the proper implementation of the Girl Shine Curriculum.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Monitor case management assistants on a regular basis to verify that they are properly documenting cases on the Primero app and that survivors' decisions and best interests are prioritized for effective care delivery.
    • Ensure that case management assistants follow the stages needed in case management, document the action plan, collaborate with the survivor to put the plan into effect, and provide timely referrals.
    • Identify psychological needs of women and girls in partnership with WPE case management assistants and share information with WPE Manager to support these requirements.
    • As needed, facilitate all response capacity building sessions for both external partners and other IRC sectors.
    • Using the GBVIMS PRIMERO, update paperwork and maintain a database for all documented cases, plans of action, and follow-up visits on a regular basis.
    • Hold monthly debriefing meetings with case management assistants and support as required.
    • Analyze instances reported weekly, monthly, and quarterly using the GBVIMS / Primero+ Incident Recorder and utilize the report to lobby for material and psychosocial help for at-risk women and girls.
    • Create a tracker of all PSS goods acquired to fulfill the psychological needs of WGSS participants, design a work plan for WGSS activities, including distribution monitoring, and ensure that all distributions are carefully documented and stored.
    • Take the lead in putting the Women Rise and Adolescent Girls programs into action.
    • At the WGSS, provide technical assistance to the women's network and other women's groups.
    • Actively create and maintain good working connections with case management actors in the field, such as government agencies, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other relevant actors.
    • Prepare and submit timely monthly and quarterly reports to the Program Manager.
    • Assist in the preparation of procurement and spending plans, as well as work plans, to ensure that programs are implemented successfully, and contribute to the development of program proposals.
    • Ensure that supplies/resources for both GBV response and preventative actions are requested in a timely manner to ensure that program activities are implemented on schedule.
    • Any other duties as required.

    Position Reports to:  WPE Manager
    Position directly supervises:  WPE Case Management Assistant

    Qualifications

    • Must have attained at least University degree in Sociology from a recognized Institution.
    • Must have experience working directly with GBV survivors and documenting cases of GBV for at least 3 years.
    • Must be Computer literate in MS-Word and MS-Excel
    • Should be able to provide mentorship to case workers for capacity building.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients always is essential.
    • Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
    • Must be able to read, write and understand English, fluent in Hausa, Kanuri and or other community language.
    • Must possess interest and commitment to human rights, gender equality and gender issues.
    • Must be a TEAM PLAYER.
