Job Description:

• The Risk Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within the hospital to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This role involves developing risk management policies, conducting audits, analyzing incident reports, and recommending corrective actions to minimize hazards. The Risk Officer will collaborate with healthcare professionals, legal teams, and administrative staff to implement best practices in risk prevention and response.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify potential risks related to patient care, data security, and hospital operations.
• Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Investigate incidents, errors, and complaints, recommending corrective actions.
• Provide training to hospital staff on risk mitigation and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Work with insurance providers to manage liability claims and coverage.
• Prepare reports and updates for hospital management on risk-related issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Certification in Risk Management (e.g., CRM, CPHRM) is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in risk management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance in Nigeria.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
