Riser Engineer at Otiz Keepers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• User-level knowledge of industry finite element modelling tools (Orcaflex, Flexcom, Shear7, Viva, Abaqus) and principles;
• User-level knowledge of Corporate IT tools supporting business processes such as electronic document system management, procurement and office automation applications; Capability to prepare and review engineering documents prepared by subcontractors;
• Comprehensive knowledge of main international discipline standards, codes and regulations and ability to analyze specific project requirements and to identify proper implementation actions;
• Capability to define technical requirements for discipline equipment and materials according to corporate standards, procedures, methods and tools;
• Experience in rigid and flexible riser analysis and design;
• Knowledge of wall thickness design criteria according to different design factors, material grade and type following main international standards; 
• Capability to analyze the behavior of the dynamic riser during the various steps of the operating life checking the pipe strength generated by vessel motion and environmental loading (waves, currents and wind);
• Experience in the interpretation of metocean data and the application of wave theories from the data for the generation of riser hydrodynamics loads in various return storm and steady-state current conditions;
• Assist the riser lead and or the Project Technical Manager in solving technical problems arising during project development and interfacing/supporting the Saipem procurement department and inspection and expediting department;
• Ensure project documentation quality and project schedule are respected;
• Offshore Assistance during riser Installation and Pre-commissioning activities onboard Installation Vessels and/or FPSO is requested.

APPLICABLE OVERTIME RATES

• Weekdays/Saturdays: 150% 
• Public Holidays/Sundays (where approved by the client): 200%

KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Orca Flex
• Flexcom
• Microsoft Office for technical reporting is an advantage

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar position
