RF & DAS Maintenance Engineer at Merit Telecoms

Qualification: Minimum of HND/B.Tech in Mechanical or Elect/Elect Engineering

Work Experience: A minimum of 3yrs experience on the job.  Telecoms Industry experience is an added advantage

Salary Budget: 200K – 300K Net 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out optimization techniques (proper antenna selection for optimal horizontal/vertical performance, mechanical/electrical tilting, appropriate transmit power setting, antenna clearance, neighbor list analysis, etc.) for optimal site/cluster performance
• Generate RF engineering-related reports in Excel, Access, SQL as required.
• Meet regularly with customers to provide briefings on test results and conclusions;
• Prepares reports and/or charts and design technical reports, databases, studies, and related documentation, makes charts and graphs to record results;
• Undertake in-building walk-test and drive test (single network and/or benchmarking) 
• Provide technical support to customers
• Handle emergency situations promptly and make escalations to respective teams as needed.
• Stay abreast with latest developments in RF engineering techniques and technologies. 
• Verify RF related site engineering drawings
• Perform design criteria, system dimensioning, link budget and traffic analysis
• Work with the team to optimize existing DAS systems to improve performance and capacity.
• Ensure vendors follow design guidelines and procedures
• Work with team members to ensure projects are completed within the allotted budget and timelines.
• Monitor and report project design & implementation progress to customers/stakeholders on regular basis.
• Oversee system installation, commissioning and maintenance.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of technical problems and provide corrective actions on all DAS sites.
• Carry out field operations maintenance activities on all DAS sites
• Resolve anomalies that occur during test and as discovered on DAS sites
• Act as key contacts for customer’s inquiries and access to sites 
• Other relevant duties that may be assigned.
