    Reservoir Engineer

    This role focuses on delivering high-quality reservoir engineering support for Shell’s upstream projects, particularly in the early development stages (DG1 to DG3). The engineer applies scientific and technical expertise to estimate hydrocarbon volumes, forecast production, and optimize field development strategies.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Apply scientific principles to understand and predict dynamic reservoir performance and generate production forecasts and resource volume estimates for use in upstream revenue calculation, financial and regulatory reporting
    • Propose drainage points and recovery processes
    • Plan, identify and execute data gathering activities
    • Perform numerical and analytic reservoir modelling, production forecasting, resource volume determination, well testing, PVT and core data analysis, risk and uncertainty management.
    • Ensure growth team deliverables are seamlessly aligned with corporate forecasting and value stream strategies
    • Perform and lead activities to generate hydrocarbon resource volume estimation and realistic production forecasts for the project team
    • Perform and lead, Field Development planning activities and recommend strategies to maximize oil and gas ultimate recovery for the team
    • Identify and mature short-term and long-term oil and gas generating activities
    • Perform and lead analyses to understand and predict dynamics of reservoirs
    • Document results on discipline specific issues and review contributions from other disciplines for integration and consistency
    • Prepare and generate proposals for reservoir data acquisition. Screen proposals from across all disciplines. Collect and interpret data and initiate follow-up activities
    • Provide advice on Reservoir Engineering matters related to well planning, drilling and completion operations
    • Coordinate Technical Assurance of individual and team products. Liaise with the TA2/1 to ensure QC actions are reviewed and closed out and documented. Provide first line QC for discipline specific topics across the teams
    • Participate in Reservoir Engineering Discipline activities. Lead and/or participate in discipline improvement projects
    • Act as technical coach to junior staff within own discipline and team
    • Able to present discipline and cross-discipline work to senior management and regulators

    What you bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline, preferably in Petroleum Engineering
    • Over 10 years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer with a proven track record
    • Strong technical competence in core reservoir engineering and a solid understanding of other subsurface disciplines; able to work independently
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capable of operating effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
    • Fully proficient in reservoir engineering technical tools and productivity software
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Competent in managing HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) issues
