JOB DIMENSIONS

The responsibilities of the AOBO Reservoir Engineer are to:

• Perform proper follow-up of Operators’ numerous fields activities, production, and reservoir studies.
• Prepare validation dossiers, under the supervision of the AOBO Senior Reservoir Engineer, for internal approvals,
• Carry out key reporting exercises (weekly, monthly, SOX, production forecasting, LTP, reserves, etc.) for AOBO

ACTIVITIES

• Production Follow-up & Data Gathering
• Follow up daily/monthly production data and analyze short falls
• Obtain information and data from operator through meetings, reports and contacts for use and feed-back
• Attend meetings (QMR, VAR, PAR, etc.) and workshops as one of Companies RE representatives.

Reserves and Profiles Evaluation

• Review operators’ volumetric and reserves.
• Perform volumetric assessment in conjunction with 2G staff for new developments.
• Interpret new reservoir data to analyze performance and estimate recovery efficiency.
• Forecast future production through classical reservoir engineering techniques and/or simulation.

Reservoir Engineering Activities

• Review & QC operator’s work and plans (Field Reviews, Field Development Plans, Appraisal Plans, well proposals, fields monitoring)
• Active participation in studies on operator’s work using RE analytical or numerical techniques and contribute to the preparation for dynamic studies for validation.
• Make recommendations based on technical judgment for direct report approval, with a view to optimize economic value of assets. Make presentations as required.

Others

• Provide technical assistance for Senior Reservoir Engineers & intern students.
• Interface with different entities within AOBO (2G team, Asset manager, Finance) and outside AOBO as required
• Promote HSE policies in line with Company's goals
• Participate in AOBO Weekly Meeting as required.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

• The position is based in Lagos
• Operators use numerous workshops but may lack proper/timely reporting and documentation in its dealings with its co-venturers. Subjects are time-consuming (leading edge)
• Significant internal and external contacts with Technical Entities. Data and information gathering, participation to meetings takes up to 30% of time.
• Company's technical expertise is recognized by Shell and partners (including NAPIMS).
• Significant opportunity for feedback (methods, field data, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Education in Petroleum Engineering or other branches of engineering (B. Sc. or M.Sc.).
• Professional experience of at least 2 years in Reservoir Engineering.
• Ability to synthesize data and capacity to interact with the operational professionals.
• Fluency in English is highly desirable.
