Research Associates will execute comprehensive field research activities across multiple Nigerian states. You'll conduct user interviews, administer surveys, gather primary market data, and support detailed analysis of our target market segments. This role requires extensive travel and direct engagement with potential users across diverse Nigerian communities.
Core Responsibilities
Field Research Execution
- Conduct in-depth user interviews across varied demographic segments
- Administer surveys and questionnaires in urban, semi-urban, and rural areas
- Gather primary data on transportation patterns, payment preferences, and mobility challenges
- Document cultural insights and behavioral observations across different Nigerian regions
Data Collection & User Engagement
- Execute structured interviews with potential users, drivers, and transportation stakeholders
- Collect quantitative data on pricing sensitivity, feature preferences, and usage patterns
- Facilitate focus groups and community engagement sessions
- Gather competitive intelligence through field observation and user feedback
Research Support & Analysis
- Support survey design and questionnaire development
- Perform data cleaning and preliminary statistical analysis
- Assist with research planning and logistics coordination
- Contribute to weekly progress reports and comprehensive findings documentation
Market Intelligence Gathering
- Research local transportation ecosystems and existing service providers
- Document regulatory and operational challenges in assigned states
- Identify potential partnership opportunities and market entry barriers
- Gather insights on regional variations in user behavior and preferences
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Sciences, Marketing, Economics, or related field
- 2-3 years of field research or market research experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and relevant local Nigerian languages
- Proven experience conducting interviews and surveys in Nigerian market contexts
- Proficiency in data collection tools and statistical analysis software
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Nigerian states
- Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to engage diverse communities effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Highly Valued Qualifications (But Not Required)
- Previous experience in transportation, mobility, or fintech research
- Knowledge of Nigerian payment systems and mobile money adoption patterns
- Experience conducting research across multiple Nigerian states
