    Research Associate

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Research Associate to support clinical research activity and the coordination of our medical residency programme.
    • The successful candidate will work with clinicians, researchers, residents, and administrative teams to help deliver high-quality research and an excellent training experience for resident doctors.

    Key responsibilities

    • Support the coordination of clinical research studies, including maintaining study records, preparing documentation, tracking timelines, and assisting with ethics and governance submissions.
    • Conduct literature reviews and prepare clear research summaries, reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
    • Help collect, organise, and manage research data in line with hospital policies, ethics requirements, and data-protection standards.
    • Support resident onboarding, rotation schedules, teaching sessions, assessments, and programme communications.
    • Act as a point of contact for residents, supervising consultants, research teams, and external partners.
    • Coordinate research meetings, journal clubs, educational events, workshops, and resident activities.
    • Maintain accurate records relating to resident attendance, training requirements, research participation, and programme outcomes.
    • Assist with grant applications, publications, audit projects, and dissemination of research findings where appropriate.
    • Identify opportunities to improve research processes and the resident learning experience.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field with 3-5 years' experience.
    • Experience supporting research, clinical administration, medical education, or programme coordination.
    • Strong research, writing, organisational, and administrative skills.
    • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
    • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
    • Knowledge of research software, reference-management tools, or electronic health-record systems.
