Reach Stacker / Empty Handler Operator at APM Terminals

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Reach Stacker Operator to join our team at APM Terminals, a leading provider of container terminal services. As a Reach Stacker Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of reach stacker equipment, ensuring the timely and damage-free handling of sea containers in our terminal.

Responsibilities:

• Operate reach stacker equipment to receive and load sea containers in a safe and efficient, adhering to APM Terminals' safety standards and processes.
• Load and unload containers onto chassis, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing.
• Monitor gauges, inspect products, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment parts, and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of container movements, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrate a high level of safety and process compliance, adhering to APM Terminals' safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with other team members and stakeholders, ensuring efficient container handling operations.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as yard planning and container handling, to ensure optimal use of resources and minimal delays.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity in the terminal.

Requirements

• O Level Certificate or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write effectively in English and Pidgin English.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Conversant with operating container handling equipment, particularly reach stackers.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
