    Radiofrequency Engineer

    ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Designing and optimizing RF systems in base stations, including antennas, transceivers, amplifiers, filters, and other RF components.
    • Performing RF network planning activities, such as site selection, coverage planning, frequency planning,interference analysis and capacity planning.
    • Monitoring and optimizing the performance of RF networks, including signal quality, coverage, interference mitigation, handover performance, and capacity management.
    • Identifying and resolving RF-related issues, such as coverage gaps, interference problems, signal quality degradation, and capacity constraints. 
    • Managing and optimizing the allocation and utilization of RF spectrum resources. 
    • Overseeing the installation, commissioning, and integration of RF equipment in base stations. 

    REQUIREMENT:

    •  A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related field is generally required. 
    • Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in RF engineering is beneficial
    • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory, RF circuit design, modulation techniques, antenna theory, propagation, and RF system architecture.
    • Proficiency in using RF simulation and design tools such as MATLAB, ADS (Advanced Design System), EMPro, or similar software. Familiarity with RF planning and optimization tools like Atoll, Planet, or Asset can also be advantageous.
    • Prior experience in RF engineering, preferably in the telecommunications industry or working with base stations, is highly desirable. 
    • Understanding of wireless communication protocols such as GSM, CDMA, LTE, 5G, and their associated RF requirements.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze RF system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network parameters.
    • Experience in using RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
    • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to RF systems.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, project managers, and field technicians.
