The quantity surveying officer will support in providing accurate cost management, budgeting, contract administration, and documentation for all real estate and construction projects. The role ensures effective cost control, timely valuation reporting, contract compliance, and proper documentation to support project delivery.
Job Details
Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, material schedules, and cost plans for residential and
commercial real estate projects.
Conduct site measurement, valuation of work done (VOWD), and preparation of
Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs).
Provide cost monitoring and control throughout project life cycle.
Assist 1n tender documentation, tender analysis, and contractor engagement
Support contract administration, including variation assessment, claims evaluation, and final accounts
preparation.
Carry out market surveys for construction materials and maintain an updated database for cost
planning.
Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports for management decision-making. Ensure strict adherence to company standards, policies and QS best practices.
Liaise with site teams, contractors, vendors, and consultant for smooth project delivery. Maintain proper documentation , records and project files.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
Minimum of four (4) years hand-on post NYSC experience in quantity surveying with relevant contract and construction management experience.
Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and pricing in Nigeria (real estate-focused).
Ability to interpret construction drawing and specifications.
Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and cost planning.
Good contract administration skills (FIDICS,SBDs, local contract forms).
Membership of relevant Professional bodies will be an advantage (NIQS)
Must be resident in Abuja.
Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Proficiency in QS software such as Cost X, plan swift, MS excel, Revit/AutoCAD measurement, and other cost management tools.
