    Quantity Surveyor

    About the Role

    The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring effective cost planning, cost control, contract administration, and financial management of construction projects. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and a proven ability to deliver projects within budget while maintaining quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.
    • Monitor project costs and provide accurate cost planning and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and risk assessments for proposed projects.
    • Prepare tender documents, evaluate contractor and supplier quotations, and provide procurement recommendations.
    • Manage contract administration, including valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
    • Prepare and submit interim valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts to management.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor project progress and identify potential cost overruns, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to achieve project objectives.
    • Assist in negotiating contracts, resolving commercial disputes, and managing project financial risks.
    • Maintain accurate records of project expenditures, contracts, and financial documentation.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
    • Professional certification and membership with a recognized body such as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) and/or Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) is mandatory.
    • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, cost control, and project financial management.
