    Quantity Surveyor

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and analyze project costings, budgets, bills of quantities, and material estimates.
    • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
    • Monitor and control project expenditure.
    • Prepare and submit tender documentation.
    • Analyze and evaluate contractor bids.
    • Assist in the negotiation of contract terms with contractors and suppliers.
    • Manage contracts, including monitoring progress and variations.
    • Prepare and issue payment certificates, ensuring timely payments to contractors and subcontractors.
    • Provide detailed and accurate financial reports throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Monitor costs to ensure the project stays within budget.
    • Recommend strategies for cost-saving and risk mitigation.
    • Identify and evaluate potential risks or issues affecting project cost or timeline.
    • Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
    • Attend project meetings to provide financial advice and insights.
    • Ensure smooth communication and collaboration across the project team.
    • Ensure that the project complies with legal and safety standards.
    • Keep up to date with changes in building regulations and legislation.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Professional certification is an added advantage.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying
    • Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects is an advantage.
    • Proficient in cost estimation software and tools.
    • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
    • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects.
