    Quantity Surveyor

    Description

    We are searching for a reliable quantity surveyor to join our capable team of professionals. The quantity surveyor will be tasked with analyzing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers. You will liaise with builders, architects, engineers, and other contractors to ensure building projects remain within budget.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
    • Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
    • Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress and material needs, including any changes which may impact costs
    • Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
    • Advising clients and crew on legal matters and disputes
    • Calculating material quantities and costs, labour costs and an achievable project timeframe
    • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
    • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
    • Negotiating labour contracts and schedules
    • Preparing labour and supplier accounts for payment
    • Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
    • Writing reports detailing costs and progress for clients

    Requirement

    • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or similar field.
    • Understanding of engineering science, construction and technology
    • Verbal and written communication, including active listening for determining client needs, communicating them to the construction crew and preparing reports
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Computer literacy and confidence using office and electronic project management programs
    • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
    • Customer service for client satisfaction
    • Understanding of current building, health and safety regulations
    • Computer literacy and confidence using office and electronic project management programs
    • Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
    • Great networking abilities.
    • A valid driver's license.
