    Quantity Surveyor

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a competent, detail-oriented, and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction / project delivery team.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
    • You will ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets, timelines, and quality standards while maximizing value for money. 
    • This is a key commercial role that requires strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of the Nigerian construction industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for building and civil engineering projects.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
    • Review architectural and engineering drawings to take off quantities and prepare material, labour, and equipment requirements.
    • Manage project budgets, monitor cash flow, track variations, and prepare cost reports throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor/supplier quotations, tenders, and contracts to secure the best commercial terms.
    • Administer contracts, assess interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
    • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and site teams to provide commercial advice and resolve cost-related issues.
    • Identify and manage commercial risks, claims, and disputes.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and contractual obligations (including Nigerian building codes and procurement laws).
    • Prepare and present regular cost forecasts and financial reports to management and clients.

    Requirements / Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc. / B.Tech) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
    • 3–7 years of post-NYSC relevant experience in the construction industry (building, civil, or real estate projects).
    • Proficiency in using QS software such as Candy, Buildsoft, WinQS, Microsoft Excel (advanced level), and AutoCAD.
    • Strong knowledge of contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, or local Nigerian contracts).
    • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
