Quantity Surveyor at Alphabait Realty Ltd

Job Objectives

• To develop cost effective bill of quantities for all related projects, monitoring and updating due to changes on requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses.
• Conduct quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine material quantities.
• Analyze and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities and specifications.
• Manage the tendering process, including evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and awarding subcontracts.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to source and procure materials and services at competitive prices.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying cost-saving opportunities and recommending value engineering solutions.
• Review and approve payment applications, variations, and change orders.
• Conduct regular cost assessments and cost-to-complete analyses to ensure projects remain within budget.
• Administer contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Prepare and evaluate contract documents, including payment schedules and progress reports.
• Resolve contractual disputes or issues related to quantities, measurements, and pricing.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including records of quantities, measurements, and pricing.
• Prepare periodic cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final account statements.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project costs.
• Identify and assess project risks related to cost, schedule, and quality.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.
• Monitor and report on risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Quantity Survey and or Engineering or a related field.
• Membership of National and or International Regulatory Body.
• Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Five (5+) years plus working experience.
