    Quality System Executive

    Job Summary

    The Quality System Executive is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (QMS) within the organization. This role requires a thorough understanding of international best practices and standards and extensive experience in raw material inspections, in-process checks, and finished product analysis. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Food Safety System Certifications (FSSC) and other regulatory requirements through meticulous documentation, internal and external audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and upholding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards to guarantee the safety and quality of our products.

    Key Result Areas (KRA)      

    The key result areas of this role are:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation to support quality assurance and audit processes.
    • Conduct thorough inspections and analyses of raw materials, in-process products, and finished products to ensure quality and compliance.
    • Ensure compliance with Food Safety System Certifications (FSSC) and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct and facilitate internal and external audits to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's QMS in accordance with ISO standards and other relevant international best practices
    • Inspections and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished products. Utilize various testing methods, including sensory evaluations, chemical analyses, and microbiological tests.
    • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of quality control activities, including test results, inspection reports, and audit findings. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.#
    • Audits: Plan and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with QMS and FSSC standards. Facilitate external audits and ensure prompt resolution of any non-conformities.
    • Compliance and Standards: Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to food safety and quality. Ensure all processes and products comply with these regulations.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the QMS and quality control processes. Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
    • Training and Development: Train staff on quality management practices, QMS procedures, and food safety standards. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness throughout the organization.
    • Customer and Regulatory Interactions: Liaise with customers and regulatory bodies regarding quality-related matters. Address customer complaints and ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
    • Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality-related incidents or defects, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventive measures.
    • Housekeeping and GMP: Maintain impeccable housekeeping standards within the environment. Adhere strictly to GMP guidelines, ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of equipment, workspaces, and personal hygiene to produce safe and high-quality products

    The Person

    • Bachelor’s degree/HND in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field. Additional certifications in quality management and food safety are a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, food safety, or related roles within the food industry.
    • In-depth understanding of food safety regulations, quality standards, and GMP guidelines applicable to the food processing industry.
    • Strong analytical abilities to assess compliance, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
    • Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops related to quality systems, food safety, and hygiene.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate quality-related information and insights.
    • Familiarity with quality management software and MS Office applications.
